With over eleven years of classical and contemporary study, Kynnedy Simone hails as a gospel jazz violinist. She began her studies at 9yrs old, studying in a local El Sistema program. She later went on to study at the Cleveland Institute of Music, The Music Settlement, and Interlochen Arts Academy. Kynnedy studied for four years at the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music and later went on to join the Contemporary Youth Orchestra where she was a member for four years, and the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra where she was member for two years.
Kynnedy was a member of her high school's orchestra, where she assumed the role of concertmaster for two years. She later went on to join the Kaboom Collective Studio Orchestra where she participated in recording a video game soundtrack for Nintendo and an original full feature album.
Currently, Kynnedy is a second year member of the Columbia University Orchestra. She is currently teaching introduction to violin to kindergarteners through the Columbia Musical Mentors Collaborative.
Kynnedy has performed on both national and international stages as a soloist, in an ensemble, and as member of an orchestra. Kynnedy attributes her beginings in leadership to her musical studies. Her musical aspirations include continuing to play music in contemporary ensembles and to use music to help teach leadership, scholarship, and self acceptance to youth.
